1) Because, Mrs. Rosen does not want anything to happen to Annemarrie, Ellen, and Kirsti. There are soldiers at every corner.

2) Copenhagen is danderous. You have to be careful what you do. For example Ellen and Annemarrie were racing around the corner and two soldiers caught them doing it and questioned them. They said it looked like they just committed a crime.

1.I think Mrs.Rosen told Annmarie those words so that she new to be carefull with what she does when there are Nazi soldiers around.

2.Life in Copenhagen,Denmark was hard. For example, The little girl Kirsti wanted bread with butter ,but she couldn't because the butter and importand foods were going to the Nazi soldiers.

#1I think mrs. Rosen said that because people usually don't want to be rememberd by the Nazis in a bad way.

#2Life in Copenhagen,Denmark is hard when it is under occupation because you don't have supplies like sugger and butter, and you can't do normal kid things like run on the street like most kids do.

1. She says that because she doesn't want the girls to get in trouble with the Nazis. She also tells them to walk a different way to school, so the Nazis will start to forget the girls faces.

2. Life in Copenhagen under German occupation is very hard. the Germans get most of the butter, sugar, coffe, and tea. Kids cannot run on the streets, and people cannot speak their opinions. Annemarie's parents have illegal newspaper delivered secretly, then have it burned. it was a very hard life.

1. I think Mrs. Rosen said that because the german soilers could remember them but if they were in the crowd they would not be able to remember the.

2. They don't have sugar to make butter and cupcakes. They don't have coffe and there are Nazi on every corner.

1) Mrs. Rosen said that because if the Natzis remember your face they might figure out what religin you are. They can go to the school and describe the girls and the school mightbe forced to tell. Also they might get taken away if they are jews. Which the back prewiew says she is.

2) Life is hard for Copenhagen. they don't have butter for their bread. Also they don't have surgur for cupcakes. They can't run in the street because the Natzis say they look like hoodlums. The Nazis are on every corner.

1. In the book Number The Stars, I think Mrs.Rosen gave the advise to Annemarine because if you cause a crime the soldiers will remember you and if you do something bad again they would go after you. That is why i thuink she said that. She was just warning the girls to keep safe.

2.In Chopenhagen, Denmark the life there is not that easy. The food supply is very low there so when Kirsti had asked for a cupcake the mother said no because the food was low and is was going to Germany. Also wherever you going on the streets or anywhere there is a solider watching you ever corner you go. The life there must be hard for everyone in Copenhagen, Denmark.

1.Mrs. Rosen advises Annemarie with these words of wisdom because she's saying if they remember your face, the Nazi soilders, they could find out about you and try to hurt you or do something bad to you or your family.

2.The life in Copenhagen, Denmark under German occupation is not fun because there are nazi soilders all over plus they can't make cupcakes even though Kirsti wants to they can't get the supplies at this time. Also normally two ten year old girls can just run down the street, but Annemarie and her friend can't run down the street.

1.I think Mrs.Rosen is telling Annemarie that she shouldn't give the Nazi soldiers a reason to come after her.

2.Life in Copenhagen is sad, desperate, but somewhat hopeful. Copenhagen is sad because the Nazis are taking the sugar. The Danish can't make cupcakes or other candys and pastries.

2.It is like the dark ages. there is no pease like for example every body mast be afaid were they live.

1.Mrs.Rosen told Annemarie that it is important to be "one of the crowd" beacause if the Nazi soilders remember them they might get angry at them for doing something else like racing each other.
2.Life is hard with the German occupation because they don't get much food because the Nazis take it from them. For example, on page 9 it shows how when Kirsti asks if there is any butter with her bread her mother say how they haven't had any butter for a while.

1. I think Mrs. Rosen told Annemarie that she shouldn't be remembered by the Nazis because it’s good to be part of a crowd and be anonymous because it’s giving the Nazis a reason to come after her.
2. Life in Copenhagen, Denmark under German occupation is that there's no more butter, sugar, coffee, or tea because the Nazis controled what came in and out of Denmark, and they wanted to have sugar, butter, coffe, tea and other goods for themselves and their army. They also to be careful with what they do. For an example, Annemarie, Ellen and Kirsti were running, and the Nazis stopped them because they thought they were running because they did something bad.

1) She advises Annemarie to be one of many so the Nazis don’t get suspicious. Also she does not want Kirsti, Annemarie, or Ellen to get hurt.

2) Life in Copenhagen, Denmark is scary because of the German occupation and because there are Nazis on every corner.

1.Mrs. Rosen told annemarie and ellen to always be one of many. I know why she did that. She did it because if you blend with many people, nazi Soldiers woudn't reconize you as much.

2.Life is very terrible in Denmark. It is terrible because there is a shortage of supply, food, water, and butter along with sugar.

1. I think Mrs.Rosen was trying not to let the Nazis have any reason to suspect the girls of anything. Say a soldier caught the girls racing and another day whispering and staring, he might suspect they did something. In the book Mrs.Rosen said"You girls walk a different route to school tomorrow". By taking different routes and blending in with the crowd, they could never accuse them guilty of anything.
2. While the Nazis were occupating Denmark, you would have to be extremly careful about what you did. Also it says in the book that, "...the soldiers were simply part of the landscape." Soldiers would be on every corner. Food would be rationed and inaccessable. This would be what life is like.

1.I think Mrs. Rosan used words of wisdom because she doesnt want the Nazis to hurt her children by remmembering there face.

2.Life in denmark is bad theres no supplies or alot of food.

1. I think that Mrs. Rosen advises Annemarie with these words of wisdom because she doesn’t want Annemarie and Ellen to be noticed by the Nazi soldiers, she wants them to be part of the crowd as it says on page 8.

2. I think that life in Copenhagen, Denmark when it was under German occupation was very boring as if there was nothing to do. On page 3 the two Nazi soldiers stop Annemarie and Ellen from finishing their race, so something as simple as a race was stopped by some Nazi soldiers.

1. I think Mrs. Rosen says this because "The Nazis already do not need a reason to do terrible things to people" as said in The Butterfly and Mrs. rosen knows that. If the Nazi soilders do have a reason to remember your face they will follow you because of the reason they remember you.

2. Life in Copenhagen, Denmark under German occupation was hard. When Kristi asks for butter for her bread, her mother says no because of the shortage of food at the time. Also, in order for the people in the Resistance to know what has been happening in the Resistance, they have to have an illigeal newspaper.

1) I think that Mrs. Rosen gave Annemarie the wise advice saying that Annemarie and Ellen should never go back to that spot where the Nazi’s because, she doesn’t want the Nazi’s to remember what the girls did. She doesn’t want them to remember that the girls were running down the street like hoodlums. If they see them again running down that street they may become suspicious. She also wants the girls to be very safe.

2) Life seems very boring and dull. I think this because in the book it says that Kirsti hadn’t had a cupcake in over a year. (pg 9) It also says that they hadn’t had butter in a year witch I could never last more than a year
without butter. It also seems boring because you cannot even run down without some one stopping them.

I agree with WLW#17 because there are soilders almost everywhere, and you have to be carefull about what you say because the Nazi don't need a reson.

1) I think that Mrs. Rosen gives words of wisdom because ever since the Nazi's came to Copenhagen, a little girl would have to be more careful then to fool around in the streets. If the Nazi's see the girls again, they will definately remember them and maybe if they were doing another action that the Nazi's didn't like they might take them away.

2) Copenhagen, Denmark is much more secretive especially in Annemarie's and Ellen's families. It's more scary to the older children, because their are not used to the soldiers being around unlike Kirsti. She's used to it, because she is only in Kindergarten.

1) Mrs. Rosen said the wise advice because she did not want Annemarrie, Kirsti and Ellen to get in any trouble with the German soldiers. 2) Life is like the German soldier are their all the time. For example “The German soldiers where like lampposts.”
